It’s official: Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett are engaged.

“I’ve asked her to marry me, again, and she agreed,” O’Neal told Barbara Walters.

O’Neal confirmed that the longtime lovers, who have been together since 1980, will tie the knot soon, as Fawcett battles an aggressive anal cancer that has her ailing, bed-stricken, and sometimes unable to speak, a condition O’Neal said will not interfere with the pending nuptials.

“Maybe she will just nod her head,” he said.
