Super 8, the family-friendly SciFi adventure produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by J.J. Abrams, had a super opening at the box office this weekend.
With stars Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning, the flick took in an estimated $38 million in tickets.

X-Men: First Class finished second with $25 million.
And two sequels, The Hangover II and Pirates 4 each took in enough to pass the $200 million mark.
