Vogue’s Shape Issue is a Bit Thin

HEAVY TOPICS Johansson in Vogue

Did Jennifer Hudson fill the fatty quota for Vogue this spring? After putting the Oscar winner on their cover in March, the magazine bravely faced its annual Shape issue. This year, “curvy” Scarlett Johansson got the cover slot (other “shapely” April alumns include Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston). But while the magazine usually musters fawning profiles of plus-size women like chef Nigella Lawson or social doyenne Marjorie Gubelmann, this year the pages are largely dedicated to helping women with other “challenging” (read: sample size) physiques find clothes.
