We’ve seen videogames like Hitman turned into movies, and theme park rides like Pirates of the Caribbean turned into movies. Not having learned from the flop of Clue, Hollywood has opted to turn another classic boardgame into a movie.
The venerable Monopoly, created in 1933, is headed for the big screen, with Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Blade Runner) to direct.
No word on the plot. The script is being written by Pamela Pettler, who wrote Corpse Bride and Monster House.
