Gwyneth Paltrow: As RadarOnline.com has reported, the actress failed in her campaign to get friends to boycott Vanity Fair and its Oscar party as the magazine prepared to publish a shocking expose of her life. In another 2013 lowlight, video footage caught Paltrow dangerously cutting off a school bus while driving her daughter Apple to school on a Vespa, for which she didn’t have the proper license. And the Goop goddess most recently recommended on her snooty lifestyle web site that people spend $23,000 on Christmas gifts! Mom Blythe Danner maintained people are jealous because Paltrow is “extraordinarily accomplished” in every area.
Kanye West: The rapper’s personal life couldn’t have turned out better in 2013, as he welcomed adorable baby daughter North with Kim Kardashian and then made an over-the-top marriage proposal to the reality TV beauty at AT&T Park in San Francisco. But the “Yeezus” freak raised eyebrows with his comments comparing himself to God, Walt Disney, and Michelangelo and Kim to iconic movie star Marilyn Monroe! West also lashed out at paparazzi after hitting his head on a street sign, threatened President Barack Obama for criticizing Team Kardashian, raged against Jimmy Kimmel on Twitter, and irked fans over cancelled concert dates and arrogant stage antics.
Kim Kardashian: Kardashian’s luxe life with egotistical rapper fiancé Kanye West continues to disturb the public. People slammed Kardashian as a bad mother for seeming to spend more time traveling with West than taking care of Baby North, a charge she staunchly denied. But Kardashian courted controversy again by appearing topless in West’s racy “Bound 2” video. And the reality star cut their baby North out of the Kardashian family Christmas card this year to embrace photographer David LaChapelle’s futuristic fantasy.
Kris Jenner: The momager has had a rough year as she split from husband Bruce Jenner and hosted a failed talk show. Viewers tuned out as the desperate momager was unable to line up big celebrity names for the Kris show, and featured all her kids instead! Meanwhile, the family’s flagship show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, tanked in the ratings this season as phony-looking plots featured Kris feuding with stepson Brody Jenner and Bruce’s mother. Kris finally had to admit the “real” story—that she and Bruce had separated. Now she’s gone Cougar, reportedly dating The Bachelor hunk Ben Flajnik!
Lamar Odom: The NBA star’s marriage to Khloe Kardashian hit the rocks this year after multiple women said they’d had affairs with him. But worse was to come, as RadarOnline.com reported Odom was abusing drugs. Odom vandalized a paparrazzi’s car and later got charged with DUI. His behavior became so bizarre that Kardashian finally admitted their marital problems on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and has hinted about a possible split.
Reese Witherspoon: The Walk The Line star crossed the line big time after her husband Jim Toth was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving outside Atlanta in April 2013. Trying to get her hubby off the hook, Witherspoon then delivered the most hated celebrity line ever to the police officer, screaming, “Do you know who I am?” The Oscar winner got arrested for disorderly conduct and obstruction, and both she and Toth were taken to jail. Witherspoon later publicly apologized, but the damage was done! In May, Toth pleaded guilty to DUI and was ordered to complete 40 hours of community service, an alcohol-education program, and one year of probation while Witherspoon pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct and was fined $213.
Farrah Abraham: Earlier this year, the Teen Mom star denied she starred in a XXX sex tape, Back Door Teen Mom, with porn star James Deen in a ploy to make megabucks and stay in the spotlight. But Deen spilled the beans-- that the plan was to pretend it was a “personal” sex tape that was inadvertently leaked. As RadarOnline.com has reported, since then, Abraham has proudly plugged her raunchy tape while partying at porn events instead of parenting daughter Sophia. Other 2013 Farrah headlines? She got more plastic surgery and was busted for DUI!
Jenelle Evans: The Teen Mom 2 star has had numerous run-ins with the law, and this April, Jenelle and her husband, Courtland Rogers, hit rock bottom when they got arrested by police who found heroin in their possession. Evans later came under fire for admitting she spent $400 a day during the worst of her heroin use. The reality star now claims to be clean but is keeping dubious company—Evans recently bailed her current boyfriend, Nathan Griffith, out of jail after his wild car chase and DUI arrest.
Kenya Moore: The Real Housewives of Atlanta star got involved in a bitter eviction battle in Atlanta earlier this year, getting the heave-ho from a $3999-a-month mansion where she lived after allegedly failing to make her rent. As RadarOnline.com reported, Moore, known for saying, “I’m Gone with the Wind fabulous!,” moved out after a Georgia judge ruled in favor of the star’s landlord. On the show, the former beauty queen has caused havoc by sending inappropriate texts to co-star Phaedra Parks’ husband.
Teresa and Joe Giudice: As RadarOnline.com has reported, The Real Housewives of New Jersey married couple were charged with 39 counts of financial fraud this July. And, if convicted, they could each serve more than 50 years in prison! Meanwhile, in a separate case, Joe was indicted in New Jersey for illegally obtaining a driver’s license using his brother’s name. In November, Juicy Joe was pulled over by police for other driving infractions and he’s also recently been spotted stepping out on Teresa with another woman. RHONJ viewers are clearly tiring of the troubled pair, as show’s ratings tanked this season.
Brandi Glanville: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star known for her Twitter feuds with LeAnn Rimes became so intoxicated at West Hollywood’s The London hotel on July 8 that she was stumbling around with her breasts falling out of her dress and her rear end flashing eyewitnesses. As Radar has reported, she just can’t seem to leave her ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian, and Rimes, the woman he left her for, alone. Glanville always seems up for a publicity stunt, even going so far as to announce that Rimes’ ex, Dean Sheremet, would appear on her podcast, even though he says he was never asked to be a guest.
Andy Dick: Comedian Dick became a Dancing with the Stars breakout hit this spring—and claimed to be clean and sober at last. But the good feelings were over this July when reports surfaced that Dick was intoxicated and disorderly in the Hamptons. Radar reported friends performed an intervention but Dick fled rehab, and he’s recently been spotted urinating in public and trying to crash a wedding to partake in the open bar. What’s next?
Nicki Minaj: Is she the woman who destroyed American Idol? Fans of the once proud FOX reality show wondered after Minaj openly feuded with her co-star Mariah Carey and showed up late for one of the live shows. (In an Idol first, the show went to air with an empty judge’s chair!). Viewers cringed when after they disagreed on a contestant’s performance, Minaj offered Carey a Q-tip and told her, “Clean your ears out!” Ratings plunged and Minaj and Carey were replaced as judges for next season.
Mariah Carey: Carey’s creepy feud with fellow American Idol judge Nicki Minaj was bad enough, but Mimi also annoyed viewers with her diva ways. The singer’s critiques consisted of calling the contestants “dahling,” slowing the show down by rambling incoherently, and turning every discussion to the topic of HERSELF. Ratings took a major hit and Carey was slammed on Twitter after she appeared to be lip-synching at the Idol finale. No surprise producers replaced her and Nicki Minaj with Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. for next season!
David Arquette: The eccentric actor is expecting a baby with his girlfriend Christina McLarty but keeps getting bad press for substance abuse issues. Arquette, who finalized an amicable divorce from Courteney Cox earlier this year, admitted to Howard Stern that he’s back to boozing. And as RadarOnline.com has reported, Arquette, the father of Coco, 9, with Cox, was seen partying with women at strip clubs in 2013.
Miley Cyrus: Where do we begin with Disney’s former Hannah Montana? Cyrus turned bad girl in a big way this year, sporting a wild short blonde hairdo, outraging viewers by twerking suggestively with Robin Thicke at the VMAs, appearing nearly nude in her “Wrecking Ball” video, and smoking a joint onstage in Amsterdam. Critics shake their heads at her outrageous antics but she doesn’t care – and is sure to hit the headlines again.
Justin Bieber: The Biebs’ single is called “Bad Day,” but what about bad year? The pop star was photographed allegedly smoking a joint, got caught leaving a brothel, stormed off the stage during a concert, caused a firestorm by saying he hoped Holocaust victim Anne Frank would have been a Bieber fan, broke up with Selena Gomez, was accused of spitting on a neighbor, and got into a scuffle with a photographer in March in which he threatened to “beat the f**k” out of him!
Dennis Rodman: The retired basketball star’s bizarre friendship with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has stirred international outrage, but Rodman couldn’t care less! In February, after he attended a basketball exhibition in Pyongyang, Rodman told Kim Jong-un, “You have a friend for life.” He also said the North Korean leader is “a very good guy.” Rodman is headed to the Communist country for the third time on December 18 to spend several days helping train the North Korean basketball team. The ex-athlete also made a fool of himself on Celebrity Apprentice this year, getting a swift boot after misspelling Donald Trump’s wife’s name during an advertising challenge.
Chris Brown: In the most recent outrageous incident for Rihanna’s boyfriend/abuser, Brown was arrested for felony assault on October 27 after allegedly attacking a Washington, D.C., man after a nightclub appearance. Though the charges were later downgraded to a misdemeanor, if found to be in violation of his probation, Brown could face up to four years in prison. He went into rehab for anger management. But it was way too late as in March, the singer had reportedly exploded in rage at a valet parker when he didn’t want to pay the $10 fee!
Lance Armstrong: After years of lying to the public about doping, the cyclist finally came clean during an interview with Oprah Winfrey this January. Armstrong confirmed taking a laundry list of banned substances to improve his athletic performance—and admitted he had lied about it for years. The seven-time Tour de France winner (1999-2005) sighed, “I am flawed, deeply flawed,” but people wish the disgraced athlete would just go away.
Jenny McCarthy: As Radar reported earlier this year, the new The View hostess has turned off viewers in a big way. Production insiders told Radar McCarthy's job is on the line because "viewers want to tune out the second she opens her mouth,” and if the new host does not improve, "she will be gone." The View mama bear Barbara Walters denied the story, but after McCarthy was hired, many blasted her controversial stand (as the mother of an autistic child) that vaccinations cause autism.
Paula Deen: The former Food network chef’s career imploded after she admitted during a deposition to using the N word. But if that wasn’t bad enough, Deen made her situation worse by giving a bizarre, self-serving interview to Matt Lauer on the Today show. Deen denied being a racist and added tearfully,” I is what I is, and I'm not changing."
Anthony Weiner: After the congressman admitted to sending naughty texts and photos of himself to women, he had to resign in 2011. Incredibly, Weiner asked the public to give him a second chance when he ran for Mayor of New York this year. But the naughty politician, married to Huma Abedin, was tainted by scandal again when he acknowledged he’d continued “sexting” after his resignation from Congress. Weiner lost the mayoral primary with less than five percent of the vote, and then flipped reporters the bird!
Courtney Stodden: The starlet, who defined the “ick” factor by marrying actor Doug Hutchison in 2011 when she was 16 and he was 51, made news by splitting from her hubby this year. The ceaseless self-promoter, now 19, also not only admitted she had a breast augmentation this June that took her from a C-cup to eye popping double Ds—she posted a video about it online! Stodden has recently been seen rubbing up against another 50something man, while still hanging out with her estranged husband Hutchison.
Tori Spelling: The poor little rich former Beverly Hills 90210 star shocked fans by crying poverty this year. In interviews and her book Spelling It Like It Is, Spelling revealed she and husband Dean McDermott, who are raising four children, are struggling financially. As RadarOnline.com has reported, McDermott couldn’t even afford to get a vasectomy. TMI! Was Spelling REALLY telling it like it is, though? Sources told Radar she recently spent a bundle on new clothes for the kids and a lavish Thanksgiving vacation at the St. Regis Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA.
Lindsay Lohan: How Lohan can you go? 2013 was a relatively calm year for the troubled star, as Lohan spent time in rehab as part of her sentence stemming from a June 2012 car accident. But her movie The Canyons bombed and as Radar readers know, sources claim she’s already fallen off the wagon while attending wild parties and latching onto much younger men.
Amanda Bynes: The former Nickelodeon took up where Lindsay Lohan left off, starting with wacky Tweets in which she showed off her new style and attacked other stars, such as Rihanna and Drake. After a series of driving-related offenses, Bynes allegedly dropped a bong out the window of her New York apartment. Later, Bynes hit rock bottom when she started a fire in the driveway of a home in Thousand Oaks, Calif. She was arrested and placed under psychiatric hold and then diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. In December, Bynes was released from rehab.
Alec Baldwin: The notorious celebrity hothead didn’t disappoint in 2013, when he was videotaped screaming a homophobic slur at a cameraman waiting outside his Manhattan apartment. He appeared to call the man a “c**ksucking f*****” (although Baldwin claimed he said “fathead”). One day later, Baldwin shoved a photographer and screamed expletives at a female reporter. MSNBC cancelled his political show.
Conrad Murray: The disgraced doc, who went to jail for involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, came out swinging after being released this year. In a major TMI interview, Murray claimed the King of Pop was incontinent! "You want to know how close we were? I held his penis every night to fit a catheter because he was incontinent at night," Murray told The Daily Mail. "Michael didn't know how to put a condom on, so I had to do it for him."
Alex Rodriguez: After being levied a 211 game suspension for reportedly using steroids, the New York Yankee appealed so he could play in 2013. Later, he sued Major League Baseball for allegedly trying to ruin his reputation. And scandal tainted A-Rod’s personal life as well, with a new book claiming the third baseman has hired prostitutes and the New York Daily News reporting the third baseman cheated on girlfriend Torrie Wilson with a groupie in a hotel bathroom.
Ryan Lochte: The Olympic swimmer’s E! reality show, What Would Ryan Lochte Do? sank like a stone after just one season. Viewers were turned off by the sight of Lochte cruising for chicks and doing some dumb rambling that made The Bachelor guys look like rocket scientists. “What’s being talked about a lot is Ryan Lochte the American douchebag,” he said on the premiere. “Douchebag? I don’t even know what is a douchebag, like what is it?”
Bret Michaels: The ’80s rocker and VH1 reality star took an unexpected tumble when he became the first cast member Donald Trump booted from Celebrity Apprentice: All-Stars back in March. A source told RadarOnline.com, Michaels acted like a big baby when he got the news!
“Bret was crying and totally distraught after he was fired. He couldn’t stop crying and even the producers were trying to comfort him. No one expected him to have a meltdown like that.”
Jon Gosselin: Just when we hoped we’d seen the last of the disgraced father of eight, Gosselin signed on for the upcoming season of VH1′s Couples Therapy. Radar exclusively learned he “shopped” around for a girlfriend to join him on the show. Gosselin will appear on the reality show with his girlfriend Liz Janetta, but insiders revealed that Kate Gosselin’s ‘s ex-husband’s former gal, Hailey Glassman, turned him down flat when he asked her to do Couples Therapy with him. Earlier this year, Gosselin had hit rock bottom by waiting tables at a Pennsylvania pub. He was also sued by Kate over a tell-all book, but she recently dropped the lawsuit.
Lil Wayne: The rapper went ballistic when a cameraman accidentally bumped into him at DirecTV’s annual Celebrity Beach Bowl flag football match in February. Wayne was caught on camera being held by back by two team mates while screaming “Look at me, motherf—-r! Look at me when you apologize!” The year only got worse for the rap star, as he spent time in the hospital after suffering seizures and was dropped as a Mountain Dew spokesperson over offensive lyrics.
Britney Spears: After being dumped from her X Factor judge gig, the pop star split from manager/boyfriend Jason Trawick in January. Spears bounced back by signing a two year deal to perform in Las Vegas, but the New York Daily News has reported she’s complained about the venue, the “too small” stage, and even the pyrotechnics. Radar sources say the “Work Bitch” singer’s fans must pay a whopping $2,500 per ticket for Vegas “meet and greet” packages—while Spears is being shielded from negative reviews of her new album, Britney Jean. Meanwhile, fans have charged that a backup singer did most of the singing on the album.
Jason London: The ‘90s actor appeared more than Dazed and Confused this year when he allegedly punched a bouncer, directed a homophobic slur at police officers responding to the brawl and pooped his pants in a cop car following his arrest. According to TMZ, London pulled the celebrity card at a Scottsdale, Arizona bar, telling the police (before soiling himself) “Guess what f—–? I f—ing love this. I f—ing own you guys so hard. I’m rich and I’m a motherf—ing famous actor! F—ing look me up, bitch.”
Kim Zolciak: The Tardy For the Party reality star no doubt aggravated moms everywhere by claiming she was already a size 4 right after having twins! Zolciak’s older daughter posted a photo of the cleavage-baring, slimmed down star, 35, and wrote, “How is my mom a size 4… it’s been 9 days since she gave birth to twins.” Zolciak herself later retweeted several complimentary messages. “I dont want your money or your family, just your genes lol looking HOT!!!!” one fan wrote. But the braggy former The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, the wife of football player Kroy Biermann, raised eyebrows when she was allegedly photographed smoking while pregnant earlier this year (Zolciak claimed they were old photos).
Rob Kardashian: The Keeping Up with the Kardashians brother was a hot mess on the reality show this year, moping around about packing on 40 pounds -- and facing a civil suit in which a photographer alleged he attacked her and stole her camera’s digital media card. After Rob reportedly agreed to pay for the camera equipment, the two misdemeanor charges against Rob for battery and theft were dismissed. But other than sitting around and whining, the men’s sock designer had few 2013 storylines.
Jacqueline Laurita: The Real Housewives of New Jersey star won a lot of fans by parenting her autistic son, Nicholas, with husband Chris on the show this season. But she squandered all the good will by taking time out from her family to get plastic surgery! As RadarOnline.com reported, Laurita got a neck lift and tummy tuck in Beverly Hills and laughed about needing her “me” time; family members (and viewers!) were appalled.
Katherine Heigl: Heigl and her mother, Nancy, have come under fire for being notoriously difficult to work with. And rumors flew about Hollywood backlash hurting Heigl after the Knocked Up and former Grey’s Anatomy star appeared in a 2013 NyQuil television commercial. In October, Radar reported that Blake Lively was given The Age of Adaline movie role that Heigl was originally booked for. However, it’s also been reported that Heigl will return to television in an NBC CIA drama and has signed to do the movie drama Survivor.
Gretchen Rossi: Radar broke the story that the blonde reality beauty (and her co-star Alexis Bellino) was axed from The Real Housewives of Orange County after this season. No surprise as viewers and her fellow housewives believed her engagement to co-star Slade Smiley was phony and designed only to keep her on the show! Rossi cried a river at the reunion show after hearing Vicki Gunvalson’s skepticism—then got her walking papers.
Simon Cowell: It was time for Cowell to get judged this year after news surfaced that he broke up a marriage by impregnating the wife of a close friend. The former American Idol and current X Factor judge, a confirmed bachelor, shocked the public when it was revealed he was expecting a baby with socialite Lauren Silverman, whose husband Andrew Silverman was Cowell’s buddy. Lauren recently finalized her divorce from Andrew. Meanwhile, Americans seem to have tired of Cowell—the current season of his U.S. version of the X Factor has fallen so hard in the ratings that there are rumors of cancellation.
Melissa Gorga: The Real Housewives of New Jersey beauty’s feud with her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice took center stage on the Bravo show this season but viewers turned out in droves! Although Teresa got the most criticism, many thought Gorga came off as a spoiled Italian American princess with her husband Joe. And feminists cringed at Gorga’s book, Love Italian Style, as she told readers that wives want “to be dominated” and should dress to please their husbands and give them “maintenance sex.” The hot housewife has lately been promoting herself by tweeting bikini pictures.
Kirstie Alley: The former Cheers actress and Scientologist bashed Leah Remini this year after The King of Queens star left the Church of Xenu. In the most recent salvo in the feud that has gone on for months, Alley told Howard Stern that Remini is a “repulsive” “bigot” whom she’s blocked on Twitter. Remini abandoned Scientology this summer, leaving fellow Scientologist Alley feeling “bitterly betrayed,” as Radar has reported. Making matters worse, Remini spoke out about her decision, even mentioning her break from the church during her recent Dancing with the Stars gig. “I think that is the most repulsive thing that a person can do--is attack another person’s faith,” Alley told Stern. Alley, who has also competed on DWTS, won’t stop slamming Remini, warning, “When you decide to blanket statement that Scientology is evil, you are my enemy.”
Charlie Sheen: The Anger Management star had another wild year in his personal life as his ex-wife Denise Richards took care of his twin sons by drug troubled rehabbing ex-wife Brooke Mueller. Radar learned that Mueller claimed Richards abused both the twins and her own kids by Sheen, which sources have denied. Sheen has apparently been of no help during the complicated situation, but found time to find a new girlfriend—who is a porn star!
Leann Rimes: Will it never stop? The country star and adversary Brandi Glanville continued their Twitter war in 2013. Most recently, Rimes unkindly posted a picture of four empty chairs around a campfire, implying she was camping with husband (and Glanville ex) Eddie Cibrian and his two kids by Glanville. Rimes caused some other commotion by laughing at a Tweeter’s implication that her ex-husband Dean Sheremet (the man she left for Cibrian) was gay. Sheremet wrote back to Rimes, who has accused Glanville of bullying her, ““Laugh away-Who’s the bully now?” Rimes did damage control, saying, Sheremet wasn’t gay and there was nothing wrong if he was. Whew.
Rihanna: The pop star who has already outraged the public with her on-again, off-again relationship with abuser Chris Brown pushed the envelope even more by posting selfies of herself on Instagram allegedly smoking marijuana and playing with a Loris, an endangered primate in Thailand. Rihanna’ 2013 stage antics have included grabbing her crotch at performances and showing up three hours late for a concert.
Charles Saatchi: The world was revolted when photos showed the advertising mogul holding wife Nigella Lawson’s throat outside a London restaurant in June 2013. The famed TV chef divorced millionaire Saatchi in July. During a fraud trial against their former personal assistants, Lawson has said Saatchi threatened to destroy her if she did not clear his name over the incendiary photos, which appeared to show him abusing her. The chef, who admitted using cocaine twice, also accused Saatchi of spreading “false allegations” of drug abuse against her.
Swift’s interview for the April 2013 Vanity Fair didn’t paint a pretty picture, as the Red singer came off as defensive and surly instead of sweet and humble. When asked about Tina Fey and Amy Poehler making fun of her at the Golden Globes, Swift said, “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” Although she’s famous for writing breakup anthems, Swift also improbably told the magazine she’d only dated two guys since 2010 and whined about the tabloids.
