As we reach the mid-point of the Olympics, it’s a good time to reflect on the athletes that entertain us not with their unending devotion to their sport but with tired excuses and distorted senses of self-importance. This is international sporting’s lesser-discussed achievement: a collection of individual’s so crushed by their failings, they’re compelled to compound the disappoint they’ve heaped on to their country, family, coaches, and teammates with an olympian-sized temper tantrum.
