A fourth installment in the Mission Impossible movie franchise will be released in 2011. Tom Cruise and director J.J. Abrams agreed to co-produce the next movie Wednesday.
Abrams, currently reaping the rewards of Star Trek success (which has grossed $335 million to date), will not be directing the fourth mission.
The films are adapted from the Paramount TV series of the same name, which ran from 1966 until 1973.
