South Florida Congressman Mark Foley resigned two years ago when it was revealed that he’d sent sexually explicit emails and instant messages to male pages.
He’s finally broken his silence about the scandal that destroyed his political career, talking for the first time to WPTV (FL) reporter Roxanne Stein. The disgraced representative called the matter “Torturous. Difficult. Embarrassing.”
Foley — who has since acknowledged that he’s gay and was molested by a priest when he was an altar boy — also admits in the interview that he was suffering from alcoholism and behavioral problems.
