Barack Nabs Coveted, Meaningless Endorsement

  • Barack Obama is expected to receive the coveted endorsement of the country’s largest union this afternoon. The AP is calling the backing of the nearly two-million-member Service Employees International Union (SEIU) a ”major boost” for the Obama campaign, and, boy, is it ever. Just look at how the SEIU endorsement propelled Howard Dean to the Democratic nomination in 2004, or how the endorsements of state SEIU chapters earlier this year totally locked things up for Obama in Nevada and California and for John Edwards in Iowa and New Hampshire. Or not. [AP]
