From Teresa To Kim, Fakery Exposed! 15 Times ‘Reality’ TV Shows Have Been Proven To Be Anything But

Reality TV has been around enough for the savvy viewer to suspect some of the scenes are either scripted or manipulated, and here is a list that proves some of the storylines on our favorite hit shows are anything but real — and are in fact, faked!
Gordon Ramsey
“Highly engineered fiction.” That’s how former MasterChef contestant Ben Starr described the TV competition, as in a shocking blog post he lifted the lid on the series and the contract he claimed he signed before taking part in Season Two. It allegedly said, “The rights granted to Producer also include…the rights to edit, cut, rearrange, adapt…fictionalize or otherwise alter the Material.”
Rosie Pierri
She was supposedly the woman that Teresa Giudice’s cousin Rosie Pierri was seriously dating on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. But Ellen Minkin told RadarOnline.com that the storyline was exaggerated to give Pierri more airtime. Claiming they had only known each for a few months when she started popping up on the Bravo hit show, Minkin said that “when there’s no drama, they create it, and they prey on people who don’t know what’s going on.”
Ronda Kamihira and Bruce Jenner
Yes, Bruce and Kris Jenner are going through a divorce. But is the former Olympian dating his wife’s ex BFF? An insider told RadarOnline.com that Bruce Jenner’s camp suspect the momager is behind rumors that he is seeing Ronda Kamihira in an attempt to drum up a storyline for the upcoming season of Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Gia Giudice and Teresa Giudice
A source claimed the ring Teresa Giudice gave her daughter Gia in a touching scene on the Real Housewives of New Jersey wasn’t a family heirloom owned by her grandmother. It was allegedly gifted to the future prison inmate from a jewelry store and was given to the teen on camera to give the owner some publicity. Is nothing sacred?
Tamra Barney and Lizzie Rosvek
In July 2014, Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney took to Facebook to blast the show’s producers for allegedly engineering drama. She claimed she told them well in advance she couldn’t attend cast mate Lizzie Rosvek’s birthday party because her daughter was sick. However, she alleged, “They asked me to wait until the cameras were up in the limo to let Lizzie know — and had her call me and say, ‘How rude that you didn’t call me!’”
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott
“You couldn’t get any more real.” That’s what Tori Spelling told Andy Cohen in an appearance on Watch What Happens Live when she was confronted with claims her reality TV show is fake, as is – allegedly – her husband’s cheating scandal. One reason the validity of the story was questioned is because Emily Goodhand – the supposed other woman – has no social media presence.
Tori Spelling
Tori even personally admitted her reality TV franchise isn’t all that it seems, including Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, which focused on her marital woes. In her book, Spelling It Like It Is, she wrote, “I’m Aaron Spelling’s daughter. I knew how to write the story. I knew what would tug on heartstrings.”
Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott, Stella McDermott, and Liam McDermott
As for the Canadian cottage that Tori and hubby Dean McDermott supposedly bought as a fix-upper that too was, allegedly, false. According to Toronto resident Michael Shipowick they only rented the house, which he still owns.
The Cast Of “Duck Dynasty”
Even Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson says certain aspects of the hit series are manufactured. That includes supposedly inserting “fake beeps like somebody had used profanity” when no one had and allegedly editing out the phrase “in Jesus name” when the family pray. Robertson made his claims during a 2013 video interview with The Christian Post.
Jessa Duggar and Ben Seawald
Will the 19 Kids And Counting wedding special featuring Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald be edited to alter what happened on the day? According to a guest, parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were surprised the newlyweds decided to share their first kiss behind closed doors. The blogger – known only as Ashleigh – wrote, “I heard Jim Bob and someone from TLC talking about altering the storyline to make it look like…they were in on it the whole time.”
Kim Kardashian
Whether it was poor editing on the producers part or a big fat lie, RadarOnline.com Online spotted Kim Kardashian wearing her engagement ring in an episode of KUWTK before the special, “A Surprise Engagement Part 1” premiered. So either the “surprise” proposal was staged — or the scene showing Kim wearing her sparkler from Kanye West was shot afterwards, and edited to appear in an episode that supposedly took place before she became engaged. Either way, we smell a rat!
Kim Kardashian Appears
Meanwhile Kim herself admitted to People that the show isn’t a reflection of their reality. She told the magazine in 2013, “Pregnancy for me was a lot tougher than people saw on my show or from magazines.”
Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Mason Disick
Even a Kardashian producer admitted under oath that parts of the series are faked. In a 165-page deposition, Russell Jay testified there were at least two scenes that were “scripted, reshot or edited” to make Kim’s ex-husband Kris Humphries look bad.
Melissa Gorga, Joe Giudice, and Teresa Giudice
Yes, the 2013 contentious fights between RHONJ cast mates and sister-in-laws Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga were dramatic, but an insider told RadarOnline.com Online that the plot wasn’t juicy enough for producers. The source claimed that “production made the decision to change what they first cut and make sure the drama was edited in.”
Kim Depaola, Melissa Gorga, Jennifer Dalton, Teresa Giudice
The production insider’s comment about the RHONJ only confirms the wording of the show’s contract, which RadarOnline.com Online obtained in 2013. Written by Sirens Project 1224, LLC – the production company behind RHONJ – it says, “The rights granted herein shall also include the right to edit, delete, dub and fictionalize the Footage and Materials … as Producer sees fit in Producer’s sole discretion.”
