Amber Marchese may have been the new girl on season six of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, but the reality star proved she isn’t a rookie when it comes to drama with her countless fights and controversial husband! The reality star exclusively opened up to RadarOnline.com to talk about her experience on the show and to give an update on her jail-bound co-star and friend Teresa Giudice, who she said is isolating herself as she prepares for prison.
“She’s blocking the world out and concentrating on her kids,” Marchese exclusively told RadarOnline.com of Giudice, who will report to prison on January 5. “I just send her a text once in a while to make sure she’s okay. She’s private right now and I wouldn’t expect anything different.”
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in prison for fraud and taxation charges in October. Only weeks before going behind bars, Marchese shares that the mother-of-four is not preparing for prison, but rather “concentrating on her children.”
She added of the Fabellini creator, “It’s awful, she’ll get through it and she’ll move on. This nightmare will eventually be over for her. I feel bad and awful that she’s going through this.”
Although Giudice’s legal troubles were a main storyline this season, Marchese’s husband Jim stole the show with his no-filter attitude.
From spreading the rumor that Rino Aprea slept with his mother-in-law– which Marchese called “ridiculous” – to offending Dina Manzo about her intelligence, Jim started drama with every cast member this season. But despite his controversial statements and actions, Marchese stood by her husband.
“Does he stand his ground? Does he say what he wants to say? Does he protect me? 150 percent,” she said. “He doesn’t go out just randomly saying crap to people. There was a lot to get him to that point. They don’t get to see the tender side, the really loving side.”
Although Marchese explained that Jim apologized to Manzo by taking her out to dinner, her relationship with the reality star is now non-existent.
“I don’t talk to Dina because I feel like she was disrespectful to my husband far too many times and I won’t stand for that,” she explained.
Marchese also had tumultuous relationships with former BFFs Nicole Napolitano and Bobby Ciasulli. Marchese not only claimed that Napolitano broke up a marriage, but that Ciasulli cheated on his girlfriend.
“I extended my hand out to Bobby to try to squash things and get through what we went through this season and he wasn’t really responsive,” she said. “Nicole and Teresa Aprea, I think all of us feel the same way. It’s over, we got to move on”
The breast cancer survivor was targeted by her co-stars – and came under fire by viewers – throughout the season for calling her illness, “The Cancer.”
“Those are ignorant statements to me,” Marchese admitted. “I don’t even pay any attention to it because to me unless they go through something like that... I thought it was very shallow.”
Although Marchese is unsure of if she’ll return for season seven and when producers will begin filming, she does have an idea of what she will improve on for next season.
“I think I would not have my husband involved as much,” she admitted. “I would try to keep him out, although he wanted to come to my defense. I feel like he got the brunt of a lot of it.“
