Hayden Panettiere had to relive her addictions and personal woes on the small screen while playing Juliette Barnes on Nashville.
Days after the Heroes alum passed away at 36, RadarOnline.com revisits Panettiere's heartbreaking confessions about some of the storylines on ABC's musical drama.
'Nashville' Writers Accused of Taking Inspiration From Star's Life

Hayden Panettiere pointed out the similarities between storylines and her private life.
The former child star claimed that the writers appeared to take inspiration from the ups and downs of her life in a resurfaced 2024 interview.
"Straight from the beginning, it was like, I’m dating a football player, Juliette dates a football player. And then they turned her into an alcoholic," Panettiere told The Messenger. "Then they turned to her leaving her daughter and going to this crazy (place) in Europe, and it was very obvious."
'They Weren't Doing Their Homework'

Hayden Panettiere shared a daughter, Kaya, with Wladimir Klitschko.
This was already very similar to the actress' own life. Panettiere began dating former professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko in 2009. In 2014, they welcomed their daughter, Kaya.
However, as Panettiere's struggles with postpartum depression and addiction spiraled, he chose to take Kaya with him to Ukraine. The pair split in 2018. That same year, the Scream actress made the difficult decision to give up full custody of her only child.
"They weren’t doing their homework. They weren’t creating new storylines," Panettiere claimed of her time on Nashville. "They were just looking at my life and going, ‘Oh, let’s just take what she’s going through and put our little spin on it.’ And then, ta-da! It’s done and done."
'I Was Like, Tear Central'

Hayden Panettiere discussed the grueling hours on 'Nashville' in a 2024 interview.
Aside from her struggles in her personal life, she also claimed that she "didn't have time to take care" of herself amid the grueling 12 to 20 hour filming days.
"I just wanted to drum it out and watch mindless television and great shows," she continued. "Anything to keep my mind off of that because I knew that next day I was going to be back at it again. I was like, tear central. I don’t even think on a soap opera that I cried as much (as I did) on Nashville."
Hayden Panettiere 'Couldn't Remember Her Lines' on Set

Hayden Panettiere reportedly struggled on set after her ex took their daughter to Ukraine.
As Radar previously reported, a source revealed that Panettiere was "incredibly down" after Klitschko left the country with Kaya. As she battled her demons, she struggled more and more on set.
"Not only was she late (for filming), she couldn’t remember her lines and didn’t spend much time with cast members," a source shared at the time.
"Wlad took Kaya to Ukraine, and his mom is helping to parent her now, which must be upsetting for Hayden," added the source. "He had to do what’s best for his daughter, but he still loves Hayden. He just wants her to get well."
On August 16, Panettiere tragically died after suffering an apparent "cardiac arrest" at an Airbnb in South Carolina.
Her cause of death has yet to be released, but medical reports confirmed "no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death." Toxicology results are pending.
