Judgment Day: Legal Decision Expected In Ex-Husband's Surrogacy Case Against Sherri Shepherd

The decision in Sherri Shepherd's surrogacy case is expected to be handed down Wednesday, as a judge will decide if the star is a mother under the letter of the law.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the former star of The View and her ex-husband Lamar Sally have been embroiled in a legal battle in Pennsylvania, as to how Sally will be compensated to care for the child after they split, after deciding to have a child via a surrogate mother.
Sally's lawyer Tiffany Palmer told People, "We believe it's in this child's best interest to have two legal parents, and those parents are the people who brought about his conception -- Lamar Sally and Sherri Shepherd."
"We are confident that once the court hears all the witness testimony and legal arguments the court will make a decision that is in the best interest of this child."
Sally, who has cared for the baby boy (named Lamar Sally Jr.) since he was born, has been critical of his ex's lack of a role in the child's life, and turned down settlement offers from the Broadway beauty he felt were too low.
The woman who carried the child for the since-split couple, Jessica Bartholomew, also called out the TV star for behavior she feels is cold and aloof.
"I just don't understand how she can act like this baby is nonexistent," she said.
For her part, Shepherd has stayed relatively silent about the sensitive issue, saying, "It's very public and it's very painful ... I'm not Tori and Dean, I don't get paid to talk about my life."
