Liberty Ross and Rupert Sanders were targeted as possible guests for the Dr. Phil show – but the troubled couple turned the TV host down, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
The pair, whose marriage was wrecked when the Snow White and the Huntsman director cheated on his British model wife with the movie’s leading actress Kristen Stewart, were eyed up by the talk show’s producers for a revealing interview.
However, Liberty, 34, and Rupert, 41, snubbed the opportunity to concentrate on couples counseling and fixing their marriage away from the cameras.
“When Dr. Phil’s producers were putting together a list of potential guests for the new season, Liberty Ross and Rupert Sanders were both mentioned,” a source told RadarOnline.com.
“They thought that an exclusive interview with either one of them would be a ratings winner because the cheating scandal was the hottest showbiz story of the summer.
“But, despite requests to both parties their interview request was denied. Reps for Rupert and Liberty said the two wanted to concentrate on counseling in an effort to make their marriage work.
“It would have been an incredible coup if they got Liberty and Rupert – but it was just something they didn’t want to do at such a difficult time,” a source revealed.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Liberty finally broke her silence about Rupert’s affair, cryptically saying that 2012 marked the “end” of certain things in her life.

“I have a really good balance. I’m very happy with my life, and I’m lucky,” Liberty said in a confessional segment filmed at designer Alexander Wang's runway show during New York Fashion Week last month, where she modeled. “I have good people. I have two amazing children.”
“I believe that we’re all on journeys, and we are all given lessons at certain times in our lives,” the articulate beauty continued. “Sometimes, when things seem really bad, you have to be able to see the good and learn from it and just move forward as graciously as possible.”
Liberty pointed out that “this year was the end of some things and the beginning of something else. Beginnings and endings are always exciting.”
