Former reality TV star Tila Tequila has opened up abut her battle with booze and drugs, admitting in a candid interview with RadarOnline.com that she "needed help" and was "in denial."
In our exclusive new video interview a radiant Tila, 29, declared she is now sober.
"When you need help, you don't realize it. Last year I was going through a really tough time," Tila said.
"I needed help... I was in denial."
Tila, who starred in MTV's A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, said 2010 was the lowest point in her life, as she struggled to come to terms with her problems.
As RadarOnline.com reported, the trouble-prone star was photographed with disturbing cut marks on both her arms leading one medical expert to conclude the marks were scars and self-inflicted.
Tila had earlier claimed she woke up and found her arm gushing blood, raising reports of a suicide attempt that Tila blamed on her alter ego "Jane."
It was around that time that Tila sought help from her doctor and therapist.
"That's when I realized, ok, I have a problem," Tila told RadarOnline.com.
"I have my doctor and my therapist and throughout all of last year I went constantly. I got sober.
"I'm really happy these days. I never ever want to go back to that dark place where I was last year."
Among the changes Tila has made -- a new name and a classier wardrobe that covers up more than she has in the past and a focus on a genuine acting career.
"I actually want to cover up more and I don't want to show too much cleavage," Tila said.
"I feel like an adult now. I feel like a woman. The girl last year... I feel like that girl is so far away. I feel like she's dead."

As RadarOnline.com previously revealed the Shot at Love star recently secured the rights to a sex tape she made with an ex-boyfriend in 2004 to ensure it's never seen by the public - something the old Tila would have probably promoted!
Not only does Tila feel like a new woman, but she told RadarOnline.com she's outgrown her last name Tequila and is changing it to Wynn -- which is a variation on the pronunciation of her birth name, Nguyen.
