Leaked photos of celebrities are the ultimate gift for fans and haters alike. But while the celebrity nude hacking scandal of 2014 produced some genuine images, over the years other pix have proven to be mock-ups. So how to tell which are fakes and which are real? Check out RadarOnline.com’s handy guide!
Demi Lovato, REAL! The former Disney star has been the victim of more than one nude photo leak and, although she hasn’t directly commented on any of them, her on-again, off-again boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama shut down his Twitter account this summer after it was hacked and racy photos of the couple were posted online.
Kirsten Dunst, REAL! “I try to have a sense of humor about a really unfortunate situation,” the actress told E! News about being the victim of the nude photo leak that left many young Hollywood celebrities red-faced.
Vanessa Hudgens, REAL! The actress was deeply embarrassed at the height of her High School Musical fame when nude selfies that she took were leaked online. In 2008, the then 18-year-old Hudgens released a statement saying: “I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos.”
Ariana-Grande, FAKE! Not all of the celebrity photos leaked in summer 2014 were genuine. A rep for Ariana Grande said the photos that were supposedly taken of her are “completely fake.”
Kate Upton, REAL! Another victim of the great celeb hacking of 2014, the model confirmed the nude photos of her were real through her attorney, who said: “We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images…”
Snooki, REAL! “Clearly these are old and personal photos that were not meant for the public.” That’s what Snooki’s rep had to say about the nude selfies of the Jersey Shore star that were leaked online in 2011.
Kesha, FAKE! The leaked photo of a semi-naked girl lying on her back with bodily fluid drizzled over her certainly looked real. But pop star Kesha took to Twitter soon after the 2010 pictures were leaked to tell fans that she’s “never done any naked pics” and is not the woman in the shot.
Olivia Munn, FAKE! No word yet on whether or not the nude photos of Olivia Munn leaked in 2014 are real, but the actress has said that the ones that surfaced two years earlier, are fake.
Chris Brown, REAL! In 2011 a photo of Chris Brown taking a full-frontal selfie was leaked. He later said in a radio interview that it was an “out the shower shot.”
Paris Hilton, REAL! There are so many leaked photos of Paris Hilton online that it’s safe to ask, who hasn’t seen her naked?
Kaley Cuoco, REAL! Another celebrity victim of the 2014 nude photo hacking, Kaley Cuoco actually emailed her family to confess that the pictures were genuine.
Mary E. Winstead
Mary E. Winstead, REAL! “To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves.” And with those words posted onto her Twitter page, actress Mary E. Winstead confirmed that she was one of the victims of the mass celeb photo hacking.
Victoria Justice, REAL! Initially Victoria Justice said the photos of her that were leaked online in August 2014 were fake but then she later took to Twitter to clear things up. The former Nickelodeon star admitted that they were real, called the hacking a “massive invasion of privacy” and announced that she is “taking legal action.”

McKayla Maroney, REAL! Be warned. Before you click on a website that features nude photos of McKayla Maroney, her lawyer says the pictures were taken when the Olympic gold medalist was underage. So anyone clicking on them will essentially be looking at child porn.
Hillary Duff, FAKE! Even though she says the photos aren’t real, Hilary Duff has still vowed to contact the FBI about supposedly explicit photos of her that were leaked online. Her rep told the U.K.’s Mirror newspaper: “They do not have Hilary’s defining birthmarks or tattoos.”
RihannaRihanna, REAL! She is allegedly one of the latest victims in the current nude celebrity hacking scandal.
