In 2014 the stars spent so much time hooking, breaking and making up that it’s a surprising they found time to do any work! Throw in a few surprise weddings and you have the perfect cocktail for amour. Here’s our look back at some of the highs and lows of the love lives of the rich and famous.
In March 2014 Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin announced they were “consciously uncoupling” after more than a decade of marriage. A statement on the actress’ Goop website read, “It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate.” And the rest of the world was left scratching their heads as to what it means to consciously uncouple.

Unfortunately “dem babies” were not able to keep Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon together. In August the TV presenter confirmed he had split from the singer months earlier after six years of marriage. They are currently reportedly hashing out (among other things) custody of their twins Monroe and Moroccan.
For Sofia Vergara 2014 was all about out with the old and in with the new. Months after calling off her engagement to on-again, off-again love Nick Loeb, she started dating True Blood actor Joe Manganiello, making them quite possibly the most ridiculously good looking couple in Hollywood.

In October Ricki Lake filed for divorce from her second husband Christian Evans. The couple – who started dating in 2010 – married in 2012. The mom-of-two is apparently “devastated” by the split.
