It's the same sad song for Taylor Swift, whose summer love with high schooler Conor Kennedy ended before you could say, "Trick or Treat."

"They quietly parted ways a while ago," a source told US magazine. "It was just a distance thing. No hard feelings. They're fine."

Swift, 22, hooked up with 18-year-old Conor at the iconic family's Hyannisport, Massachusetts compound. The 18-year-old's father is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and the late Mary Richardson Kennedy, and his grandmother is iconic Ethel Kennedy.

A friend close to the couple said "it's been over a month since they've even seen each other. With her promotion for Red, she has no time off until the end of the year."

Swift, who's got a knack for turning her love life heartbreak into Grammy-winning material, has past dated John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner and Cory Monteith.

Swift's new album Red is in stores now.
