Conrad Murray's Odd Offer To Katherine Jackson: Come Visit Me In Jail!

The Jackson family saga just got even weirder -- Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's personal physician who was convicted in his death, is inviting Katherine Jackson to visit him in jail to "answer any questions she might have."
Murray extended the odd invitation Tuesday night in a statement released to CNN through his attorneys, Valerie Weiss and Michael Flanagan.
"I've been told that she has a desire to speak with me before she departs this life," Murray said in the statement. "Seeing that she is up in age and in questionable health, and the fact that she is the mother of a very dear departed friend, it would give me great pleasure to sit with her one on one and answer any questions she might have."
Murray said he would put Katherine Jackson's name on his visitor's list.
"It would put her at peace," Murray said. "I would do that truly out of concern for her and altruistic love and concern for others. I want to see her. I do not want Mrs. Jackson to suffer. She remains as dear to me as my own mother, unbeknownst to her."
Murray said his invitation was prompted by news coverage of the ongoing feud among members of the Jackson family.
"Although I am not permitted to see the news in jail, there are times when intermittent snippets are seen before a channel change occurs," Murray said. "I recently saw Katherine Jackson in one of those snippets. She appeared to be extremely sad. I also heard she is having a difficult time."
A rep for Katherine Jackson, 82, said he would present the offer to her, but he doubted she would accept.
Murray's invitation comes on the heels of a bizarre week involving the iconic pop family.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Katherine was finally able to meet with her attorney, Perry Sanders, on Thursday night, at her Calabasas mansion, two days after the attorney flew to Tucson, Arizona to see the Jackson family matriarch and wasn't allowed to see her, and she laughed at reports that said she had a stroke.
During her stay in Arizona, she had no contact with Michael's three children (Prince Michael, Paris, and Blanket), much to their alarm -- especially Paris who has tweeted non-stop since the drama began last weekend.
When Katherine did arrive back in Los Angeles early Thursday, she found that she had been stripped of her legal guardianship of the kids. Tito Jackson's 34-year-old son, TJ, a constant fixture in the children's lives, has been granted temporary guardianship, although Katherine is expected to regain guardianship now that she's back in L.A.
