RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively two of Hollywood’s biggest stars are being lined up to play a Meghan Markle character in a disturbing film that depicts she will divorce Prince Harry before being assassinated.

A script is doing the rounds with Hollywood and British film studios that tells of a former actress marrying an English prince.

The character is then doomed to follow Princess Diana’s footsteps and endure a bitter divorce from her Royal husband before the film shows her being assassinated after being outspoken about the Royal Family.

Meghan lookalike Zoe Saldana, 39, is wanted to play the former actress as she is now.

It’s understood the scriptwriter also wants Halle Berry, 51, to play an older version of Meghan for the second and third acts of the film that chart a nasty split from the Royal family.

A well-placed film industry source said the script is a “winner” with an “epic” plot structure that is “guaranteed to make a mint at the box office” due to its “controversial and edgy” nature.

It is believed the script has been written by a well-established British writer who specializes in satire and it will spark a bidding war between studios.

The source added: “The plot of the film is clearly based on Meghan Markle’s life, though the movie does not name her.

“It tells of a struggling actress who marries an English prince, only to be cast out of the Royal family because she is too anti-establishment – just like Diana was.

“The second half of the film charts the actress’ life after she divorces the prince and how she is hounded by the press once she leaves the Royal family.

“It will also hint she is in danger of being assassinated for being too outspoken and learning too many secrets about the Royal family, and will also show her dying in a probable assassination set up.

“Many people believe Diana was assassinated when she left the Royals, and so the film will hint at all that.”

The insider went on: “The film will be hugely controversial, and that’s why it should be a hit at the box office.

“Its message is that Meghan joining the Royal family will not change anything about that institution and show she is in danger of being eaten up by the institution before she is driven over the edge, just like Diana.

“It is basically a very art-house film as it does not name Meghan or Harry, but explores the struggles an ordinary person finds themselves in when joining an extraordinarily pressured environment like the Royal family.”

The source said the script had been written with Zoe and Halle in mind, but no approach had yet been made to the two stars as scriptwriters and producers are only starting to work on getting funding for the flick.

Meghan has already been portrayed on screen by Jamaican actress Parisa Fitz-Henley, 40, in CNN’s TV movie A Royal Romance.

The film was panned as “pathetic” by critics.

But our source said the new film being proposed based on Meghan’s life would be “nothing like a TV movie."

They added: “It will be big budget and a big-name director will be wanted to helm the project and give it some weight, as it tackles huge themes about class and conspiracy theories.”

There are already signs of tension between Meghan and the Royal family.

Her official web page on the Kensington Palace site was changed after it glossed over her acting career, which included raunchy sex scenes in US comedy drama Suits.

The Duchess of Sussex was presented with her very own royal website, hours after she married Prince Harry in a lavish ceremony on May 19 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

The site features details of Meghan’s life, how she grew up, her passions and career.

But members of the public lashed out at Kensington Palace for undermining the actresses’ successful Hollywood acting streak, and focusing on her humanitarian work.

Meghan’s acting career in popular US TV series Suits, and her education biography was mentioned on her site, but was only featured on the secondary biography page.

The site has now been altered, with Meghan’s 15-year acting CV now clearly displayed on the home page for the Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan’s education and career are now featured at the top page underneath her new royal name and a short paragraph describing her new title as the Duchess of Sussex.

A spokesman from Kensington insisted the changes were created for “formatting and design reasons” and “not because of the content itself”.

Royal watchers have claimed it is the first signs of tension between Meghan and the Royal family – known as ‘The Firm.'

One source said: “Just as Diana fought to establish herself in the Royal family, this is the first sign not much will be different with Meghan.

“Actresses are not considered aristocracy by the royals, so her working life was not featured heavily on Meghan’s official royal page.

“The real reason it has since been changed to reflect how she was a working actress for years was made at Meghan’s insistence as she wants her whole life represented, and not only the ‘acceptable’ parts about her charity and humanitarian work.

“Hopefully things do not go the same way for her as they went with Diana, who found the pressures of belonging to that family far too much.”
