Deadbeat Dad? Kyle Chrisley’s Baby Mama Claims He ‘Doesn’t Want’ Daughter Chloe & Family Man Act Is All For Show

Nine months after Chrisley Knows Best premiered on USA Network, it’s clear that the title is not totally accurate. After RadarOnline.com exposed dad Todd Chrisley’s multitude of past and present legal troubles, his son Kyle came forward earlier this fall with perhaps the most shocking allegation yet — that Todd had “stolen” his daughter Chloe and kicked him to the curb. But now, in a bombshell interview, Chloe’s mom and Kyle’s ex, Angela Johnson, has spoken out to RadarOnline.com to tell her side of the story. And according to Johnson, Todd didn’t steal Chloe; instead, she says, he saved her from what she believes would have been a violent and desperate life with the child's erratic father.
Kyle first made his bombshell claims in an interview in October. "My dad showed no interest in Chloe at all until the show and until it was pointed out that having a mixed race child and getting her and all that would be good for his demographic,” he said at the time. "He didn’t want to see her before then. He said he wanted nothing to do with her."
Todd later denied the claims and said they were “hurtful.” Now, Johnson emphatically tells Radar, “Honestly, it’s not true. Kyle is the kind of person who will say anything, and people believe it.”
“I know Todd is not using Chloe just for that TV show,” she continues. “If it wasn’t for Todd, me and Kyle and Chloe would have been on the side of the interstate! Todd and Julie stepped in to help me with Chloe, because Kyle would not do it.”
“When I was in the hospital having Chloe, Kyle didn’t show up until after she was born,” Johnson claims. “After I had her, he was in and out of the hospital, with people he shouldn’t have been with. I didn’t know until after the fact exactly what was going on."
She recalls, “When I had Chloe, we went to stay at my sister’s house until I got an apartment.”
Soon, Kyle reappeared. And it was not a happy reunion.
"Kyle came to my sister’s house,” Johnson says. "She was seven months pregnant, and he kicked the door and ran up on her with a knife!”
Anderson County Sheriffs confirmed that an incident took place on February 23, 2013. According to the cops, “the altercation began when Johnson confronted Chrisley about his habit of staying out all night and not returning home until late in the morning.”
“Chrisley became angry and struck Johnson in the face with an open hand,” a Facebook note posted by the Sheriffs Department states. “He then took her child and left the residence. Minutes later, Chrisley returned and kicked in the front door. When Johnson’s sister confronted Chrisley, he threatened her with a knife.”
Chrisley is still wanted on charges of Criminal Domestic Violence and Assault and Battery.
After the incident, “I was at rock bottom,” Johnson claims. “I wasn’t working. I was busy taking care of Chloe by myself.”
It was then, she says, that Todd and Julie came to her rescue.
“They met me at 11 at night at McDonalds in Atlanta to pick up Chloe, because I could not take care of her on my own,” she claims.
Since then, she said, Kyle has had every opportunity to visit with the young girl, chances Johnson says he has not taken.
“He doesn’t want Chloe,” she claims. “He had time to visit her, but he will not go visit her. He’s more interested in his own girlfriend Lexi.”
“I’m not a dramatic per son and I don’t like drama,” she continues. “When it comes to my business and my daughter, I don’t just come out and put it out for the world to see. But I don’t like when people come at me saying that I’m the unfit parent or I’m the one that’s not wanting Chloe. I see Chloe and talk to her two and three times a day. He doesn’t call on her.”
“The only reason he wanted to be around me and Chloe was to get money from Todd and Julie,” Johnson claims. “But they wouldn’t send him money because they knew what he was doing with that money.”
Indeed, Todd has spoken out to say that his son, who has been in and out of rehab, needs “help.” Kyle insists he is sober.
