Rosie O’Donnell: Race For Open Seats On The View Was 'Very Much Like The Hunger Games'

Rosie O’Donnell, in an interview touting her return to The View, said that the manner in which ABC producer orchestrated a shake up to the show’s cast was “very much like The Hunger Games.”
As we previously reported, many names were in the mix to replace the outgoing Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd, with those spots ultimately going to Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace.
O'Donnell told Variety that one of the exercises producers put prospective panelists through was a test with her and Whoopi Goldberg to witness how they meshed and interacted.

"I think Whoopi and I were both a little shocked at having to do a chemistry test — I don't know if there's a way to test that,” she said, adding that the process “felt very negative and competitive."
O’Donnell, 52, makes her official return to ABC’s morning chat-fest, after seven years, when the program’s new season premieres Sept. 15.
