As the death toll tops 70 in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, we have shocking new photos documenting the severe and breathtaking damage done in the wake of the historic super-storm.
Some of the jarring images -- initially uploaded to Instagram and republished on Twitter -- include a bank of stranded taxi cabs; a tree fallen on a long park bench; an upscale yacht club smashed to smithereens; and record-setting traffic into New York City, as life slowly returns back to normal in the Tri-state area.
As of Thursday, the storm had killed at least 82 people, 34 of whom died in New York City; power outages to at least 5.6 million households; property damage of $20 billion; and between $10 billion to $30 billion in lost business.
