L Ron Hubbard's Great Grandson Slams Scientology, Says Tom Cruise Is A ‘Victim’ Of The Church

Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard’s great grandson has called the enigmatic figure a “portly red-headed charismatic lying con-man pseudoscience self-help author.”
And now that Jamie DeWolf’s gotten that off his chest he goes on to brand Tom Cruise, who is in the higher echelons of the controversial religion, as just a “golden mascot” for the organization.
“Tom Cruise is another victim of the mirage that my great grandfather created around himself,” DeWolf told CBS5 News.
He added that in his opinion Katie Holmes had to escape from Tom because “the more she saw behind the curtain the more horrified she probably was.”
Jamie says that Scientology devastated his family and caused his grandfather, Ron DeWolf, to change his name when he finally left the group.
“It destroyed and devoured both her grandfather and her father,” Jamie said about his mother who never discussed the church and added that although he never met L. Ron, his legacy has always impacted their lives.
Twelve years ago, Jamie did a one-man show about his infamous relatives which became a YouTube hit – however, it was not so popular with the honchos from the church.
“Within two to three days Scientologists were at my door with fake cover stories claiming that they were performers doing a show with me,” he said. “They had people following me, they were on me immediately.”
Jamie slammed Scientology and called it a “pyramid scheme that sells secrets and they sell them under the guise of self-help.”
Spokesperson for the church, Karin Pouw, released a statement saying that “despite his public representations and self-promotion, Mr. DeWolf is not knowledgeable about the Church of Scientology or its founder.”
