After being diagnosed with breast cancer, host Giuliana Rancic underwent a double mastectomy on Tuesday, and RadarOnline.com has learned it went well and she's even "awake and cracking jokes!"
"Thanks 4 all the well wishes & prayers," her husband, Bill Rancic, tweeted on Wednesday afternoon.
"G's surgery went well & all the dr's were pleased with the outcome. She is awake & cracking jokes!"
In an exclusive video interview with RadarOnline.com, Giuliana expressed her fear about going under the knife, but said she wanted to get it over with so she could start off 2012 with a clean slate.
"I think I'm definitely scared of the unknown," Giuliana, 37, said. "I'm scared because I've never done this before, but I have Bill with me."
Bill chimed in: "We have a finish line. That's what New Year's is. Let's be done with this and start off 2012 on the right foot. This New Year's is going to be more meaningful than any New Year's of the past."
Giuliana had her last day at work for E! News on Monday and will spend the next two weeks in recovery.
