"You're never cured when you have an addiction," Michael, a rehab consultant at Recovery Hub, told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive video interview -- the first given by any of Lindsay's family members since her release from rehab on Monday.
"You have to fight it for the rest of your life and it is a fight. Do I have faith that she can do it? Absolutely. A lot of people do. It's still a long road and a tough one, but I have faith in her."
Lohan also confirmed that Lindsay will be moving into a new home -- a story first reported by RadarOnline.com.
Despite movers frantically working to relocate her furniture and belongings from her former West Hollywood apartment to her new beachside residence, it was not ready in time and the Mean Girls starlet was forced to spend her first night post-rehab in a posh Los Angeles hotel.
"She is on her way to a very healthy place," Michael said.
"She's got a new place she's moving into, she's getting her life back in order and I'm happy to see a lot of the people she brought back into her life now are the people that were there a long time ago when she was successful."
In a heartfelt message to his daughter, Michael said: "I'm here for you. You know that I am, and I don't want you to be put in the middle anymore."

He added: "You don't have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. It's not your job and if anyone comes between you and something you love or something that is important to you, you just have to tell them they can't be a part of your life.
"Your life comes first, your sobriety, your health. As far as I'm concerned my family comes first, and that's you."
