Late last night, the 22-year-old mother of three tweeted a fan that she would not be returning to the MTV series that made her a celebrity.

“Are you doing season 6?” the follower asked.

“No,” Messer simply stated.

Another fan, who also tagged Messer’s costars Chelsea Houska, Kailyn Lowry and Jenelle Evans in her post, suggested that the West Virginia native’s shocking departure would result in the show’s end.

“Don’t assume,” hinted Evans.

“Exactly. I hope my girls continue to move on with TM2. I wish them the best,” Messer responded.

As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported in September, producers were eager to begin filming a 6th season and began calling the ladies to make sure everyone was on board.

“The producers know the show is a success, and it’s not going anywhere,” the insider insisted.

Despite her show’s popularity, Messer has been struggling in recent months. In October, her husband Jeremy Cavert, 25, publicly accused her of cheating with an ex, which Messer promptly denied. She is also in a bitter legal battle with ex-husband Corey Simms, 25, over custody of their 4-year-old twins Ali and Aleeah.

And as RadarOnline.com exclusively reported this summer, friends fear that Messer has been abusing prescription painkillers to cope with the stress of parenting a disabled child. (Little Ali was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy last year, which Messer has admitted has become a huge financial and emotional burden.)

“It’s all too much for her,” a friend told RadarOnline.com.

Hopefully Messer will find the help she needs off camera.
