Here Comes Weight Loss? Honey Boo Boo Joins 'DWTS' Juniors Edition
Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson is getting ready for another reality show. According to a story originally reported by The Blast, sources say Alana, 12, the daughter of Mama June Shannon, has been in Los Angeles for the past week training for the new Dancing with the Stars juniors' edition, set to air this summer.
Mama June, 38, is reportedly helping her girl prepare for the grueling dance show. The ABC spinoff of the regular DWTS will feature an all-kids celebrity cast performing with child pro dancers.
"We’re told she’s been seen going in and out of practice and is taking it very seriously," a source told The Blast about Honey Boo Boo.
Alana has lately appeared on From Not to Hot on the WE channel with her mom after both took America by storm on the reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. That series was cancelled by TLC after a scandal over June allegedly dating a pedophile.
However, Mama June claimed at the time that she wasn't romantically involved with the man, Mark McDaniel, the sex offender who molested her (now grown) daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell at the age of 8.
Alana, who wasn't involved in the scandal, grew up on camera, as fans first saw her as a cast member of TLC's child beauty pageant show Toddlers and Tiaras.
Although Honey Boo Boo was just a child, she had more spunk and personality than almost any other reality TV star at the time. Now she's older but DWTS producers obviously feel she's still a big TV ratings draw! But will she need her "go go" juice?!

On the Toddlers show, Mama June shocked viewers by giving her daughter what they called "go go Juice," a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew containing the caffeine equivalent to two cups of coffee!
Mama June controversially turned to the beverage to give Alana energy for pageants and when people found fault with the questionable drink for a child, she responded: “There are far worse things…I could be giving her alcohol.” Most celebrities lose weight on DWTS and the show could help Alana!

In 2015, the little girl and Mama June stopped by the show The Doctors, where Alana was pronounced obese and facing health risks, including asthma. Her mother Mama June showed off her own stunning weight loss on From Not to Hot, now in its second season.
