Explosive Evidence
In court papers obtained from Marion Superior Court, the State of Indiana listed materials that may be used as evidence if the case goes to trial.
Not Good For Amber
The evidence listed includes audio recording from the July 5, 2019 incident at her Indiana home, audio recording of July 4, 2019 incident, including email explaining car ride audio, three Ring videos, which is doorbell footage, and 22 photos provided by the Indiana Metropolitan Police Department.
Andrew’s Side
Other evidence includes audio recording of Glennon's statement, charging information, 2-page criminal history of Portwood, incident report, prior conviction court documents and more.
Custody Drama
The State has also received documents from Child Protective Services. Because the documents are confidential, the State cannot disclose the information without a Court Order mandating specific discovery. “The State requests that the Court would review the attached document to determine whether it should be disclosed, and, if so, to what extent the documents should be disclosed.” The State is requesting the court conduct an in camera review of the materials. The judge approved the state’s request for in camera review of the Child Protective Service documents.
Shocking Arrest
As RadarOnline.com broke, Portwood, 29, was arrested on July 5. According to an Affidavit for Probable Cause obtained by RadarOnline.com, Portwood argued with Glennon because he couldn’t get through traffic to see fireworks. When they returned home, she hit him with a shoe while he held their son. He left so Portwood could cool off. When he returned home, she charged at him like she was "going to hit him.”
Suicide Threat
DAILY. BREAKING. CELEBRITY NEWS. ALL FREE.
Portwood at one point threatened to commit suicide. “Ms. Portwood went to her drawer and took a handful of Klonopin and tossed it back like it was nothing,” the court papers read. When he threatened to call the police, she “regurgitated the pills.” Glennon locked himself and their son in a room when she picked up a machete, which she had in her home for protection. “She hit the door with the machete and kicked the door and broke the handle,” the report read. Glennon then texted 911 for help.
Amber’s Side
Portwood denied the incident with the pills and machete, but admitted to hitting him with a shoe while he was holding their son.
Helping His Case
The court papers explained Portwood became upset that Glennon was recording her “yelling,” which is likely the evidence to be used in court.
Father’s Fight
On July 9, Glennon filed a Combined Verified Petition for Paternity Related Orders and Emergency Hearing Regarding Custody of a Child, requesting sole legal and primary physical custody. He also asked for Portwood to have supervised visitation. The court papers read, “Father believes Mother is currently unable to provide a safe, stable and secure environment for James on an ongoing basis due to her frequent refusal and/or failure to take medicines prescribed to treat her mental-health conditions, among other concerns.” A no-contact order was put in place to protect Glennon, 35, and James.
Supportive Co-Stars
Portwood appeared in court on July 25 alongside her Teen Mom OG co-stars Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Cheyenne Floyd. Her producer, mom and baby daddy Gary Shirley were also in attendance.
Finally Good News
The Clerk of Court for the Indiana courthouse explained of that hearing that the no-contact order protecting her son with Glennon has been lifted. “She has supervised visits only for the child,” the clerk told RadarOnline.com. Terms of the visitation, including where the visits will take place, is to be heard at a future Child In Need of Services hearing. The no-contact order for Glennon remains in place.
Reunited
As RadarOnline.com reported, Portwood, who is also mom to daughter Leah, 10, with Shirley, saw her son on July 18 during a supervised visit. It was the first time she's seen him since her arrest.
