Shocking Filing
In court papers obtained from Marion County Court in Indiana, Glennon filed a Combined Verified Petition for Paternity Related Orders and Emergency Hearing Regarding Custody of a Child on July 9.
Dad’s Demands
“Father believes it is in James’ best interests that he be awarded sole legal and primary physical custody,” the court papers read. “Father believes that it is not currently in James’ best interests for Mother to have unsupervised parenting time.” He is also asking for child support, insurance and payment of medical expenses.
Amber’s Arrest
In the petition, he detailed Portwood’s July 5 arrest. “Mother was arrested on July 5, 2019, after she struck Father while he was holding James, and, then, charged at Father with a machete, also while father was holding James,” he wrote. Amber’s battery arrest against Gary Shirley, the father of her daughter Leah, 10, was also mentioned.
Shocking Claims
“Father believes Mother is currently unable to provide a safe, stable and secure environment for James on an ongoing basis due to her frequent refusal and/or failure to take medicines prescribed to treat her mental-health conditions, among other concerns,” the papers read. The Ashley’s Reality Roundup was the first to report Glennon’s concerns.
DCS On His Side
Glennon claimed that on July 8, he voluntarily submitted to questioning by the Department of Child Services following the arrest. “DCS informed Father that they intended to file a Child in Need of Services case… that Father was not to permit Mother to have unsupervised contact with James.” DCS would also “recommend to Juvenile Court that James be placed in Father’s custody.”
He IS The Father!
A DNA test was taken, confirming Glennon is the biological father of James.
Blowout Fight
On the night of the arrest, the Affidavit for Probable Cause revealed they planned to drive to Geist Bridge to see fireworks, but were unable to get through the traffic. He claimed Portwood, 29, made him feel like he “dropped the ball.”
Violent Fight
When they returned home, she grabbed a shoe off the rack and hit him with it. “Mr. Glennon stated he was holding James and he turned to the side to avoid him getting struck with the shoe,” the affidavit read. He left to buy her a gift and food.
Suicide Threat?
When he returned, Portwood came to him like she was “going to hit him.” She told him to put James down, but he refused because he was “crying and upset.” Portwood then “threatened to kill herself. “Ms. Portwood went to her drawer and took a handful of Klonopin and tossed it back like it was nothing,” the court papers read. She “regurgitated the pills” when he said he was going to call for help.
Scary Moment
When she picked up the machete, Glennon locked himself and their son in a room. “She hit the door with the machete and kicked the door and broke the handle,” the report read. That’s when he called for help. Portwood denied the incident with the pills and machete, but admitted to hitting him while he was holding the 1-year-old.
No Contact
Glennon told authorities that she struck him “several times in the past." As for the shoe incident, she told authorities, “It was in the shoulder, and I barely hit him.” She was frustrated because he recorded her “yelling.” As RadarOnline.com broke, a no-contact order was issued to protect Glennon and their child.
Where’s Amber?
A source told RadarOnline.com she is “staying with her mom right now.” She also skipped out on the Teen Mom OG reunion over the weekend. The insider claimed her relationship with Glennon is “up in the air.”
