A no-contact order was issued against Amber Portwood to protect her baby daddy Andrew Glennon and their son James after her domestic violence arrest.
As RadarOnline.com broke, the Teen Mom OG star was arrested on Friday, July 5 after she hit her boyfriend with a shoe while he held their son. She also allegedly attacked him with a machete, as he hid in a room with their toddler.
She has been charged with one count of domestic battery, a felony count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and a felony count of domestic battery.
Although Portwood has been ordered to stay away from her 1-year-old, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal she had a supervised visit with her son.

Reunited
“She saw the baby on Thursday,” a source told RadarOnline.com of the July 18 visit. “The visits are for James to be able to see his mom.”
Limited Time
A second source close to Portwood, 29, told RadarOnline.com the July 18 visit was the first time she saw her son since the July 5 arrest.
Shocking Arrest
The visit comes after her July 5 arrest. In an Affidavit for Probable Cause obtained by RadarOnline.com, Portwood made Glennon feel like he “dropped the ball” because they couldn’t get through traffic to see fireworks. When they returned home, she hit him with a shoe. “Mr. Glennon stated he was holding James and he turned to the side to avoid him getting struck with the shoe,” the affidavit read. He left to buy her a gift and food.
Violent Fight
But the presents didn’t diffuse the situation, as she came to him like she was “going to hit him” when he entered the room. She told him to put James down, but he refused.
Suicide Scare
Portwood then “threatened to kill herself." “Ms. Portwood went to her drawer and took a handful of Klonopin and tossed it back like it was nothing,” the court papers read. When threatened to call the police, she “regurgitated the pills.”
Protecting James
Glennon locked himself and their son in a room when she picked up a machete, which she had in her home for protection. “She hit the door with the machete and kicked the door and broke the handle,” the report read. Glennon then texted 911 for help. Portwood denied the incident with the pills and machete, but admitted to hitting him with a shoe while he was holding the 1-year-old.
Seeking Full Custody
A no-contact order was issued to protect Glennon and their son. On July 9, Glennon filed a Combined Verified Petition for Paternity Related Orders and Emergency Hearing Regarding Custody of a Child.
Amber’s Nightmare
“Father believes it is in James’ best interests that he be awarded sole legal and primary physical custody,” the court papers read. “Father believes that it is not currently in James’ best interests for Mother to have unsupervised parenting time.” He is also asking for child support, insurance and payment of medical expenses.
Away From Amber!
The papers continued, “Father believes Mother is currently unable to provide a safe, stable and secure environment for James on an ongoing basis due to her frequent refusal and/or failure to take medicines prescribed to treat her mental-health conditions, among other concerns.”
CPS On His Side
Glennon claimed that on July 8, he voluntarily submitted to questioning by the Department of Child Services following the arrest. “DCS informed Father that they intended to file a Child in Need of Services case… that Father was not to permit Mother to have unsupervised contact with James.” DCS would also “recommend to Juvenile Court that James be placed in Father’s custody.”
Where’s Amber?
Portwood has kept a low-profile after the arrest, as she even skipped out on filming for the Teen Mom OG reunion. “It just wasn’t a consideration with everything else she has going on right now,” a source told RadarOnline.com. An insider previously told RadarOnline.com she is staying at her mom's home.
Past Issues
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Portwood was arrested in 2010 for domestic violence against Gary Shirley, the father of her daughter Leah, 10. She served 17 months in prison on drug charges and was released in 2013. Shirley had full custody of Leah during that time. Portwood sees her daughter on weekends.
