Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne quickly worked out a private deal with her legal team after they threatened to leave her for being difficult to represent.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the law firm Dinsmore & Shohl LLP informed the judge they are withdrawing their request to be allowed to drop Jayne as their client.
In their motion, the firm claimed, “the relationship of trust and confidence that is essential to a properly functioning attorney-client relationship has broken down and, in the good-faith assessment of counsel, the relationship is irreparable. Withdrawal is appropriate under such circumstances."
“The Firm is ready, willing, and able to cooperate in a smooth transaction of the bankruptcy file and will make the client file available to Ms. Girardi or Ms. Girardi’s replacement counsel promptly upon the granting of this Motion,” they added.
Jayne’s lawyers said they would be willing to provide more details about the situation to court behind closed doors. It seems the RHOBH star worked quickly behind the scenes to work out their “trust” issues.
The reality star would have been without representation as the investigation into her starts to heat up.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Jayne is in the middle of multiple legal battles. It all centers around her estranged husband, the one-respected L.A. lawyer Thomas Girardi.
Girardi is accused of screwing over lenders, his clients, and even the partners at his law firm.
Earlier this year, he was forced into Chapter 7 bankruptcy by his creditors who accused him of refusing to pay on tens of millions in debt.
A trustee was appointed by the court to take over control of Girardi’s finances. At the moment, they are trying to figure out the best plan of attack to repay his debts.
The trustee believes Jayne has assets in her possession that are property of the estate. She has refused to turn over any of the items saying the were “gifts” from her ex and she had no obligation to return them.
Jayne is in a bit of trouble after the judge signed off on the trustee hiring another lawyer to start grilling the reality star. They believe Girardi transferred her assets during the time when he knew his financial situation was falling apart.
