Dr. Dre’s ex-wife Nicole Young says she is unable to fight the billionaire in court as she has no income coming in at the moment.
According to court documents obtained by Radar, Nicole is demanding the court order Dre cough up $4,051,541 to help her cover her legal fees.
In the docs, Nicole says she needs $551k for legal fees from July 3, 2021, to September 30, 2021. She also wants $3.5 million for future fees in fighting Dre as part of their $1 billion divorce.
Dre’s ex also needs $215k to appeal decisions in the case and another $100k to comb through his finances.
In the docs, Nicole says her ex continues to engage in “emotional, physical and financial abuse.” She says “since the commencement of these proceedings, Andre – whose net worth is in the hundreds of millions – armed himself with a large, expensive team of attorneys from multiple firms.”
She accuses him and his team of using “hardball litigation tactics” as she fights to have their prenuptial agreement thrown out. Nicole believes she is entitled to half of Dre’s estate. He scoffs at the suggestion claiming they had a prenup that lays out what she receives.
Nicole says he tore up the prenup years into their marriage. She also accuses him of carrying out multiple affairs during their union.
Nicole claims she only has $1 million in the bank as Dre continues to control the rest of the bank accounts. She believes the music mogul has $240 million in cash sitting in a bank account right now.
She says it is “abundantly clear that Andre has guttural and unabated anger and contempt for Nicole, his wife of more than 25 years and the mother of their two children.”
In her docs, Nicole says she is unable to continue fighting Dre in the divorce without any cash. She describes the situation as “desperate” claiming she is unemployed without any income.
Nicole says that she owes her lawyers $1.887 million as of September 30, 2021. “Andre easily has the ability to make a fee contribution. He has at least $243 million in assets at his disposal. He is a music and electronics technology mogul who recently signed up to perform at the Superbowl Halftime Show. With hundreds of millions of dollars at his disposal, Andre can make a fee contribution of any amount without batting an eyelash.”
Dre’s ex is demanding $4 million in attorney fees ASAP. Nicole filed for divorce in June 2020 after 24 years of marriage. The case is headed to trial next year.
