Friends close to Alec Baldwin tell RadarOnline.com that the actor is so devastated about the accidental shooting of Halyna Hutchins that he might never ever act again.
“It’s over for Alec. There is more than a very good chance that he will never step foot on a movie set again,” sources tell us.
“This nightmare is real life. He will never be able to forgive himself for what has happened which is why his acting days are most likely over.”
“After the incident, making movies feels so insignificant,” adds a pal.
“Moving forward his life will be changed forever. Social justice and activism have always meant so much to Alec, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if his future will now be devoted to that. Something much bigger than himself and entertaining others.”
Last week, hours after the incident on-set, Alec released an emotional statement. “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother, and deeply admired colleague of ours,” the actor wrote. He added, “I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.”
The police are still investigating the situation but the blame seems to be directed towards the 24-year-old rookie armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed. She is reportedly the one who loaded the pistol and placed it on the table. The assistant director Dave Halls was the one who picked up the weapon and handed it to Alec. Police reports show crew members said Halls was the person who told Baldwin the gun was "cold"
Gutierrez-Reed has yet to comment on the matter but was spotted pacing outside her Arizona home earlier this week. She reportedly has hired a lawyer to defend herself against potential criminal charges.
