Prince Andrew's step back from royal duties may be permanent.

As RadarOnline.com readers know, the Duke of York announced his resignation following the shocking BBC interview where he discussed at length his relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged sex victim, Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

In a train wreck appearance, Andrew denied knowing about the financier's alleged sex trafficking scandal. He also claimed that he had never met Giuffre, though a photo of the royal's hand around the then-17-year-old's waist, suggests otherwise.

Giuffre previously shared her accounts of the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of Epstein and Andrew, whom she claims she met through Epstein's girlfriend and alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell.

Now, a tell-all interview with the British Show TV Panaroma is scheduled to air on Monday, and the royals fear Giuffre will reveal more damaging details about the royal!

"There is a sense of trepidation in the palace about what Virginia Roberts might say and any potential involvement of the FBI," a royal source told the UK Papers.

"Prince Andrew has been given the worst-case scenario for him and his involvement with the family - that he may never be able to retrieve to the front line of duty," they added. "The Duke of York suggested he will take a step back from public life for the foreseeable future but the reality is he has been told it could be for a very, very long time, potentially forever."

Giuffre has long been sharing her experience as Epstein's sex slave.

According to Roberts’ under-oath statement, she claimed she was forced to sleep with Prince Andrew on three occasions.

The third time, when she was just 18 years old, allegedly took place when she and the Duke of York were “in an orgy on Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands."

The royal denied those allegations -which Giuffre will reportedly react to in the upcoming tell-all - and he was reportedly asked to move out of Buckingham Palace.

As RadarOnline.com reported, Prince William helped in the decision to nix Prince Andrew along with Andrew's brother, Prince Charles.

However, according to the UK Papers, the Queen is "stung" by suggestions she is no longer in control and asserts that she was the one to make the final decision regarding her son's being publicly deep-sixed.
