Kanye Is King! West Says He Will Change His Name To 'Christian Genius Billionaire'
Kanye West could be changing his name to reflect his new holy man persona.
After the rapper's spiritual awakening, he joked during an appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival on November 7 that he was considering changing his name to "Christian Billionaire Kanye West."
West's antic came amid his complaints that he was not listed a billionaire by Forbes Magazine, even with sales from his shoe company, Yeezys, surpassing that amount.
“I showed them a $890 million receipt, and they still didn’t say ‘billionaire’,” he said. “When people say it’s crass to call yourself a billionaire, I say I might legally change my name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for a year until y’all understand exactly what it is.”
Kanye's thoughts of changing his name is reminiscent of Sean "Diddy" Combs' various name changes throughout the years.
The record producer started his music career with the mini Puff Daddy in 1997. In 2001, he became P. Diddy, which he shortened to Diddy in 2005. His most recent name change, RadarOnline.com reported, was two years ago, when the business mogul announced he had changed his name to "Brotherly Love."
While Kanye's announcement of a name change may just be in jest, it's no surprise his possible moniker includes the word "Christian" considering the star is running his own successful church.
Readers know the star's Christianity has become a huge part of his life and has helped in making some positive changes.
Aside from holding his Sunday Services, the rapper recently released a gospel-like album, Jesus Is King.
Kanye's faith has also led him to give his wife Kim Kardashian a strict dress code!
Kim recently covered up in a turtleneck dress after Kanye's new wardrobe rules were revealed by a RadarOnline.com source.
“He used to be all about showing off Kim’s sex appeal, but he’s turned conservative all of a sudden and he now visibly cringes when he sees her leave the house showing too much skin,” an insider told RadarOnline.com.
Now Kanye “tries to rein her in as if she’s a teenage girl, demanding that she ‘can’t go out looking like that,’” added the source.
RadarOnline.com previously reported he and Kim got into a spat during her Met Gala fitting after he admitted he no longer thinks it sexy when she shows off her body.
“Like the corset, underwear, all that vibe, I just feel like I just went through this transition of being rapper, and lookin’ at all these girls and looking at my wife like ‘Oh, my girl needs to be just like all the other girls, showing her body off’… I didn’t realize that that was affecting like my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and loved, and the father of what’s about to be four kids,” Kanye said in an episode of Keeping Up with The Kardashians.
“You are my wife and it affects me when pictures are too sexy,” he added.
The shoe designer has also admitted there were times during the making of his new album when he would ask people to fast or abstain from premarital sex, according to PEOPLE.
