Barbara Walters remains hospitalized with a fever Tuesday after falling at an inauguration party at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. on Saturday night, RadarOnline.com is reporting.
Whoopi Goldberg, Walters’ co-host on ABC’s The View, read a statement from the legendary journalist on Tuesday’s show. It read: "First and foremost, all the people who have called, written and been concerned about me, I'm most appreciative. I'm running a low-grade fever and the doctors are keeping me in the hospital until my temperature is normal. I'm pleased that it is going in the right direction and I will be home soon."
Walters , 83, suffered a cut to her forehead during the fall. Goldberg did not say when she was expected to return to the popular program.
On Tuesday’s The View, her co-hosts all wished her well with the always hilarious Joy Behar quipping, "She tripped on the same stairs where she once had sex with Churchill."
Goldberg said, "Wow, you learn so much history when you watch this show."
Walters was in D.C. to cover the inauguration, but her injury prevented her from covering the president’s swearing-in.
