The twists and turns in John McAfee's life have been so dramatic that Hollywood movie producers have been scrambling to snap up the rights to the billionaire software mogul's bizarre, larger than life story, RadarOnline.com is reporting.
McAfee, who is a person of interest in his neighbor's murder, was on the lam and leading Belize law enforcement officers on a merry dance before he was dramatically rushed to the hospital Thursday after his bid to seek asylum in Guatemala was denied, has granted exclusive rights to his life story to Impact Future Media.
"McAfee trusts that we will honor his life story in an honest and truthful manner," Brian Fitzgerald, who cofounded the Canadian company, tells The Hollywood Reporter.
The company is currently on the hunt for investors in the project that has been titled Running In the Background: The True Story of John McAfee.
Impact Future Media represents cartoonist Chad Essley, the founder of Cartoon Monkey Studio whom McAfee says is his "best friend." Essley illustrates McAfee's official blog, Who Is McAfee?
The 67-year-old billionaire said on Monday: "My most heartfelt thank you goes to Impact Future Media and Cartoon Monkey Studio.
"Their dedication to the truth is very uncommon in the world we live in today. I am now, and will always be grateful to their organizations."
Over the weekend British-born McAfee expressed his desire to return to either the U.S. or the UK. In a video posted on his blog Sunday he said: "I have dual citizenship; I would be happy to go to England…

"I would be very happy to go to America. America is where I was raised and that's exactly what I want."
He also used the video to squash reports that he takes bath salts, which he described as being "cheap" and "the worst drugs on the planet."
"I do not take drugs and have not taken drugs for over 30 years," he insisted. "I do not drink. I have not taken a drop of alcohol.
"If I were to slip, please, wouldn’t I take a good drug? I do have the resources. I do not have to resort to taking the worst drug in the world."
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, McAfee was rushed to a Guatemalan hospital last week suffering from reported chest pains. He addressed these issues in his video. Although it was widely reported that he had a heart attack, McAfee says: "The problem I had the other day is I did not eat for two days.
"I drank very little liquids and for the first time in many years I have been smoking, almost non-stop. I stood up, passed out, hit my head on the wall…I am fine now."
And when asked about his neighbor Gregory Faull whom he denies murdering, McAfee says he "barely knew the man" and had "no animosity towards" him.
