News anchor turned talk show host Katie Couric reveals that newest member of the Royal family Kate Middleton would be a dream guest during a yet unaired segment on her new show Katie, but in the same breath she criticized her for "getting too thin," RadarOnline.com is reporting.

Prince William's bride reportedly lost 10 pounds in the weeks before her fairy tale wedding in April 2011, shrinking from a size 8 to a size 6 so she could fit into her dazzling (and slim cut!) Alexander McQueen wedding dress.

Katie's comment could be considered flippant, but will likely upset the powers that be at Buckingham Palace, due to the fact the late Princess Diana also publicly battled with weight issues, admitting she suffered from bulimia.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kate thinned out by employing the healthy and highly restrictive Dukan Diet which is a high-protein diet followed by other starlets like Jennifer Lopez and Gisele Bundchen.

The "too skinny" slam is particularly surprising since Katie was granted interviews with both Prince William and Prince Harry, pre-wedding, which is considered a real coo within the realms of journalism.

The former CBS evening news anchor also personally met with Queen Elizabeth in the gardens during the Diamond Jubilee this past June.

Katie premieres September 10 on ABC and her first guest is new mom Jessica Simpson, who has also been struggling with weight scrutiny since her daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson was born on May 1.
