The Modern Family star was celebrating her 40th birthday at Rosewood Mayakoba in Riviera Maya, Mexico when Nick asked her to marry him.
“He popped the question while at the Mayan archeological ruins of Chichen Itza with the entire birthday entourage,” a source close to the couple told RadarOnline.com.
Her hit TV show castmates Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen and Sarah Hyland were on hand for the romantic proposal.
The Columbian beauty and her aspiring politician fiancé broke up earlier this year, but began dating again shortly after their split.
