Bleary-Eyed Mel Gibson Looks Ready For Bed After Night On The Town

He’s been laying decidedly low recently, but Mel Gibson was out and about once again Thursday, enjoying a night out with friends, and RadarOnline.com has the photos.

The 56-year-old actor stopped by Lucas restaurant in Los Angeles, and left looking bleary-eyed and ready for his bed as the night drew to an end.

Thankfully, Mel has learned from his past digressions, most notably his now infamous DUI arrest in July 2006, and he sensibly opted for a chauffeur driven ride home after his night on the town.

The Lethal Weapon star was dressed casually for the low-key evening, in a double denim combo of jeans and shirt with a white T and black jacket.

He was joined by a blonde female companion and two males.

As RadarOnline previously reported, Mel was embroiled in another audio tape scandal earlier this year after a shocking, expletive-laced rant surfaced.

On the recording, secretly made by Maccabees screenwriter Joe Eszterhas' son, Gibson can be heard embarking on an epic meltdown, screaming, "f**king c**t" amongst other profanities.

The latest Gibson rants surfaced about two years after Mel was caught in a series of violent voicemails threatening to kill his then girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, which RadarOnline.com exclusively obtained. Eszerthas alleges that Gibson also threatened to kill Oksana, or have his FBI buddies do it for him.

Shortly after the latest scandal hit, Gibson copped to having "anger management issues" on The Tonight Show.

"Maybe you don't know this about me," Gibson said to Jay Leno, "but I've got a little bit of a temper."

The Australian is currently single. His divorce from wife Robyn was finalized last December and he does not appear to have had a serious relationship since his split from Grigorieva.
