Former Prison Break star, Lane Garrison, currently on parole for vehicular manslaughter, has dodged a major bullet, and won't be charged for allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend, Playboy Playmate, Ashley Mattingly, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
As previously reported, Garrison was arrested last weekend for getting into an altercation with Mattingly in the lobby of her apartment complex in Beverly Hills. Garrison remains in jail as he isn't eligible for bail because he is still on parole, which was supposed to end this Saturday.
"The District Attorney has decided not to charge Lane because they didn't have sufficient evidence to prove that he hit Ashley, even though the entire incident was caught on surveillance video. The two were arguing and Lane was attempting to get his cell phone back from Ashley, which she was holding. Lane gave an exhaustive interview to detectives, without his attorney, Harland Braun present. Lane contends that he never hit Ashley, it's just not who he is," a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com.
Garrison's life took a tragic turn in 2006, when the car he was driving struck a tree and killed one of his teenage passengers. The actor pleaded guilty to the vehicular manslaughter charge and was released from state prison in 2009 after serving 20 months of a 40 month sentence. In addition to jail time, the actor agreed to a financial settlement with the victim's family.
