Nigel Barker doesn’t think the decision to fire him from America’s Next Top Model was a smart one.
The bloodbath at Tyra Banks’ ANTM reality show saw Jay Manuel, Miss J and Nigel let go after 18 seasons of the now-ratings challenged show, and Nigel slammed his ousting as a “huge mistake!”
“I don’t think this is the end of it. I think it isn’t going to work the fans have had a backlash of reaction,” Nigel said on The Roz & Mocha Show on Toronto's KiSS 92.5 when he spoke with Roz Weston and Devo Brown on Monday.
“It is sad for us.”

Nigel has been a part of the show since it first aired in 2003, and he said that the decision to fire him is not going to help the beleaguered show.
“I feel this is a huge mistake and Miss J and myself are going to be enormously missed.”
He blamed the networks for the falling ratings. “The network didn’t advertise the show. On bus stands, billboards, people weren’t aware it was on; people weren’t aware of the gimmicks, the all stars.”
He said that Tyra called him to tell him the news, but that he doesn’t hold her responsible.
“I don’t blame Tyra, it isn’t a blame game. I thank Tyra for giving me an opportunity for the last 10 years.
