Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian were among the many celebrities who partied Saturday night at Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy party.
They had heard just hours earlier that Whitney Houston had died in the same hotel that the event was taking place – the Beverly Hilton Hotel – but the party went ahead and turned into a tribute to the singer who died that same day.
Clive Davis said that Whitney’s family agreed that the music should not stop and paid tribute to the woman who he groomed from a young age to superstardom.

“I personally am devastated by the loss of someone who has meant so much to me. She was full of life, looking forward for tonight. She loved music and she loved this night that celebrated music,” Clive said.
“Whitney was a beautiful person and she had a talent beyond compare. She graced this stage...so many times. So simply put: Whitney would have wanted the music to go on.”
Also in attendance at the event were Diana Ross, Alicia Keys, Toni Braxton, Gladys Knight, Jennifer Hudson and Tony Bennett.
