LeAnn Rimes Reaction: 'Drinking & Driving Should Not Be Taken Lightly'

LeAnn Rimes’ fence at her Hidden Hills, Calif. home was busted through by a young man suspected of being under the influence, and RadarOnline.com finally has her reaction to the incident.
“To address the accident that happened in front of our home this morning, everyone is ok and safe. However, if drunk driving was involved it is terribly sad,” the 29-year-old tweeted on Monday afternoon.
“My family could have been seriously injured and any situation where someone is drinking and driving should not be taken lightly. Needless to say, it was a very unsettling call to receive this morning.”
As RadarOnline.com was first to report, a 20-year-old slammed his car through LeAnn’s fence early on Monday morning and authorities are waiting on toxicology reports to confirm whether or not he was drunk.
“It appears that he was under the influence but we haven’t gotten toxicology back yet. We’re still confirming and some testing is being done,” Sergeant Vivian May of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department exclusively told RadarOnline.com.
“He was driving on a suspended license. He took out a stop sign at an intersection and then he ran into a light pole and took out one of the resident’s fence. There were no injuries.”
This isn’t the first time LeAnn and her hubby Eddie Cibrian have been linked to a drinking and driving incident — Eddie’s ex-wife and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Brandi Glanville was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs in October, 2010.
Brandi escaped jail time by copping a plea deal and received 36-months probation and a $390 fine; she also has to complete a three-month alcohol program.

“Thank goodness the young driver and everyone at home are ok,” LeAnn said of Monday’s accident.
