The woman in the Rebecca Zahau suicide rope reenactment video is a police officer, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
The video was disseminated by the San Diego Sheriff's Department at a press conference last week, at which time law enforcement determined Rebecca Zahau's cause of death was suicide.
The San Diego Sheriff's Department said at the press conference that the woman in the video trying the elaborate knots was similar in height and weight to Rebecca Zahau, but they declined to mention she was an employee of the department.
Rebecca Zahau's naked body was found hanging from a balcony at her boyfriend Jonah Shacknai's Coronado mansion two days after Jonah's son, Max, was found unconscious at the base of the stairs.
Max,6, subsequently died in hospital from his head injuries.
Lt. Larry Nesbit of the San Diego Sheriff's Department confirmed to RadarOnline.com exclusively: "The woman in the video is a police officer."
The video has only added speculation into the cause of Rebecca Zahau's death because of the skill level it would take to tie the knots in the rope.
Dr. Drew declared on his hit HLN show "those knots would have to be tied by a 17th century sailor!"
Jonah Shacknai's brother, Adam, who has worked on tug boats, found Rebecca's body, and cut her down before cops arrived.
Cops cited a study at the press conference about people that commit suicide.
The study was published in the Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. The findings state that 95% of suicides "are associated with mental illness."
Rebecca Zahau's family maintains however that she didn't suffer from any mental illness, and never had attempted suicide previously, or shown any suicidal leanings or tendencies.
