A new timeline is emerging in the Rebecca Zahau death case, that is creating more questions than answers, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting. The San Diego Sheriff's Department determined Rebecca's death to be a suicide, which her family vehemently disagrees with — they are pushing hard to get the investigation reopened.
Rebecca’s naked body was found hanging from the balcony at her billionaire boyfriend Jonah Shacknai's mansion in Coronado, CA. (a suburb of San Diego), two days after his son, Max, 6, was found unconscious at the base of the stairs. Max later died from his injuries.
Search warrants in the case that had been under seal, were ordered released by a judge in San Diego, which reveal the whereabouts of Jonah Shacknai, his ex-wife Dina, and his brother Adam, who had flown in from out of state to be with his brother after Max's tragic accident. Several other search warrants connected to the case, remain under seal, a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com.
According to interviews with cops, Jonah said he was notified by Rebecca on July 11, 2011, while he was at the gym, that Max had an accident. He immediately rushed home, and followed the ambulance to the hospital. "He returned to his residence on July 11, 2011 in the early evening hours to take a shower and pack some clothes. He returned to the hospital, and hasn't been back to his home in Coronado,' the docs state.
Jonah was interviewed again on July 15, 2011, two days after Rebecca's death and it’s stated that in the early morning hours of July 12, 2011, he stayed at the hospital until 1:55 a.m. At that time he left the hospital and tried to get a room at the Ronald McDonald House which is across the street, but was unable to get a room because they were full, so he checked into a nearby hotel.
Jonah returned to the hospital on July 12, 2011 between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. Dina was at Max's bedside when Jonah returned, but left shortly thereafter to go to her home in Coronado to get some sleep.
Dina returned to Rady Children's Hospital on July 12, 2011, at 6 p.m. in the evening. Rebecca, along with Jonah's brother Adam, came to the hospital that night, and picked up Jonah and his friend Howard. After dropping Jonah's friend off at the airport, Adam, Rebecca and Jonah went out to dinner. Jonah returned to the hospital at approximately 10 p.m. When Jonah returned to the hospital, Dina was still at Max's bedside.
Rebecca and Adam went back to Jonah's mansion after dinner. "The only people at the residence from the evening hours on July 12, 2011 to the morning hours of July 13, 2011 were Rebecca and Adam," the search warrant affirms. Jonah left the hospital around 1 a.m. on July 13, 2011, and was able to get a room at the Ronald McDonald House. Dina stayed at the hospital for the entire night, according to the search warrant.
Jonah called Dina prior to his arrival at the hospital and notified her that Rebecca "had killed herself," the court docs state. Jonah returned to the hospital on July 13, 2011 at around 7:00 a.m., having just been notified via text message from his brother that his girlfriend was dead.
Adam Shacknai claims that he discovered Rebecca's body after 6:30 a.m. on July 13, 2011 when he exited the guest house on the property, "to get coffee. As he exited the guest house, he observed the decedent hanging by a red rope from the balcony of the main house. Adam cut the decedent down from where she was hanging and telephoned 911," the court docs state.
The search warrant also asserts that "officers arrived on scene and observed Rebecca lying on the grass in the rear courtyard area. Rebecca was nude, her hands and feet were bound with red rope. There was also a red rope tied around her neck and a blue cloth around her neck. Adam told officers he moved a wooden table so he could reach her and cut her down. Adam also said he removed the blue cloth from her mouth as instructed by the 911 dispatcher...Paramedic John Feliciano noticed Rebecca was cold to the touch and rigor mortis was present in her jaw area. Feliciano pronounced Rebecca deceased and no attempts of resuscitation were made."
Jonah Shacknai has formally written to the California Attorney General, asking for the office to re-examine the evidence in the case.
