Dr. Drew Pinsky, board certified addiction specialist, spoke with RadarOnline.com exclusively regarding Jeff Conaway's tragic death.
As RadarOnline.com was first to report, the Grease star passed away Friday morning at age 60.
Dr. Drew treated Conaway on VH-1's Celebrity Rehab and told us: "I'm saddened to report he has succumbed to his addiciton, thus far we have no evidence of an intentional overdose, rather this is the natural history of prescription drug addiction, pneumonia, septic shock, etc.
“It looked like he might pull through last weekend, but unfortunately that was not to be. Please continue to send your well wishes and prayers to his family. I hope his story will motivate others to get treatment and avoid a similar outcome."
Conaway passed away surrounded by his family, and several close friends, a source revealed. "Jeff wasn't in any pain. The family is finding comfort knowing that Jeff is no longer suffering, and is at peace now. Jeff is gone too soon."
