Drunk, or not?
Former teen idol David Cassidy denies he was boozed up when a Florida Highway Patrol trooper pulled over his white Mercedes on the Florida Turnpike in early November.
Now police dashboard camera video has emerged, showing the moments after The Partridge Family star was pulled over.
“I’m feeling fine,” Cassidy told the officer, before asking the cop to speak up because he could not hear him due to the traffic.
The officer then asked him to discard a bottle he was holding; it is unknown what kind of bottle it was.
When he got out of his car, officers said Cassidy was unsteady on his feet and failed several field sobriety tests.
In one test, the officer is heard asking: “What kind of cologne are you wearing?”
The actor registered a 0.141 on a breathalyzer, police, well above the legal limit of .08.
Cassidy, 60, told cops he drank a glass of wine at lunch and popped a painkiller a few hours before he was stopped.
But a search of the Cassidy turned up a half-empty bottle of Bourbon, authorities said.
“Of all the people… a guy who has supported you guys,” Cassidy told the officers, as he was lead away in handcuffs.
“It doesn’t matter who you support,” responded one cop.
Cassidy's next scheduled court appearance is January 18.
