VIDEO: American Idol Auditions Hit Hollywood -- Where Dreams Are Made & Broken

American Idol auditions kicked off in Hollywood on Wednesday and RadarOnline.com was front and center to find out which hopefuls had their dreams come true — and those whose were shattered.
Thousands of fans lined up before dawn at the Forum in Los Angeles, waiting for their chance at stardom.
“We’re looking for the next Michael Jackson,” said new judge glamorous Jennifer Lopez, who was joined by Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler, Interscope Records exec Jimmy Iovine, surviving judge Randy Jackson and host Ryan Seacrest.
“We want to find a full rounded performer who can really contribute to the world of music.”
The lucky contestants who get to go onto the next round shared their excitement about the audition results.
“It was actually the scariest experience! I was not expecting to make it at all,” Nicole Kent told RadarOnline.com’s Alexis Tereszcuk.
Other hopefuls weren’t so lucky.
One 15 year old girl was left in tears as she exited, telling told RadarOnline.com why she wasn’t selected as an American Idol contestant.
“None of us did a good job,” she sobbed. “We weren’t meant to get put on this year.”

The aspiring Idols were singing Christina Aguilera songs, Sugarland tunes -- and even some Beatles, for the judges.
“I sang and they called me to sing another song and I did it and they were all like, we’re going to keep you!” VJ Rosales said about his winning audition.
American Idol will be airing in January on Fox.
